[Unit 3 Project][Pro tools] ERROR...No codec error with Pro Tools 12.8.x when importing a video file, 비디오 안불러지는 오류...

Pro Tools Video Issue Troubleshooting. No Codec error, Black Video Window etc ...

Last Updated : September 10, 2018
Products Affected :

I updated to Pro Tools 12.8.x.
Pro Tools cannot import a video file with an error saying there is no codec.
I could import the specific video file with older version of Pro Tools before.
If your Mac OS is version 10.9.5 or lower, your system is not supported by Pro Tools 12.8.x.
Because of this incompatibility, the Video Engine does not work properly.
In this case, please try below.

- Please back up your data first, update your OS to the supported version and reinstall Pro Tools 12.8.x.
or
- Please uninstall Pro Tools 12.8.x, reinstall the compatible version of Pro Tools.

If your OS is supported by the Pro Tools version,
please try the common workarounds below.
*****

1.
First of all,
Please check the video codec compatibility.
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/compatibility/Avid-Qualified-video-CODECS-for-Pro-Tools-11

Please also try another video files with another video codec if possible.

2.
Please delete Pro Tools Preference, Workspace, and WaveCache files

OS10.12

The other OSes.

3.
(1)Please try the workarounds on the webpage below.
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/troubleshooting/Pro-Tools-Video-Engine-fails-to-launch

(2)Also, please remove this folder (even if there is nothing inside).
" Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/AVX2_Plug-ins/AMA "

(3)Please remove all the plug-ins inside of
" Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/AVX2_Plug-ins"

4.
If you are using BlackMagic/Aja video device, remove the driver by the uninstaller,
and reinstall the latest driver for the Video Device.

*Pro Tools and 3rd Party video driver needs to be installed in order of:
(1)Pro Tools (2) BlackMagic Desktop Video( or Aja driver).
And if you update Pro Tools, the video driver needs to be reinstalled to work properly.

5.
In rare cases, removing Pro Tools and BlackMagic driver,
creating a new admin user of Mac , and reinstallation of PT and BlackMagic driver from inside of the new admin user account, can resolve the issue.

6.
If any double byte character/illegal character is contained in the video file name, hard drive name, or any path name to the video file, please try changing to English-Only name.
