Korean poem: Flower || regarding identity and signifier

Flower Kim Chun-Soo translated by Alex Rose Before speaking her name she had been nothing but a gesture. When I spoke her name, she came to me and became a flower. Now who will speak my name, one fitting this colour and fragrance of mine, as I had spoken hers So that I may go to her and become her flower. We all yearn to become something. I yearn to become an unforgettable meaning to you And you to me

Signified and Signifier and Floating Signifier (from the Wikipedia) and a idea

Signified and Signifier by Ferdinand de Saussure A generic diagram from Saussure's  Course in General Linguistics  illustrating the relationship between signified ( French  Signifie )  and signifier (French Signifiant )  The terms signified and signifier are most commonly related to semiotics, which is defined by Oxford Dictionaries Online as "the study of signs and symbols and their use or interpretation".   Ferdinand de Saussure, a Swiss linguist, was one of the two founders of semiotics.   In his book, Course in General Linguistics, Saussure explained that a sign was not only a sound-image but also a concept. Thus he divided the sign into two components: the signifier (or "sound-image") and the signified (or "concept").  For Saussure, the signified and signifier were purely psychological; they were form rather than substance.  Today, following Hjelmslev, the signifier is interpreted as the material form (something which can be se

We remove ourselves from our grief or from our revery and we go into our phones. Why does this matter? It matters to me because I think we’re setting ourselves up for trouble; trouble certainly in how we relate to each other, but also trouble in how we relate to ourselves and our capacity for self-reflection.   We’re getting used to a new way of being alone together. People want to be with each other, but also elsewhere connected to all the different places they want to be. People want to customise their lives. They want to go in and out of all the places they are because the thing that matters most to them is control over where they put their attention.   You can end up hiding from each other, even as we’re all constantly connected to each other.   … Across the generations, I see that people can’t get enough of each other, if and only if they can have each other at a distance, in amounts they can control. I call it the Goldilocks effect: not too clos

self research and developing idea "Becoming My Mento"

<Becoming My Mento>  Haruki Murakami: His novel help me to find my identity. After Reading "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage", I feel relieved that character of Tsukuru reflect me. Before reading, I felt I was the only one character who could never understand by others and even myself. Since almost all his character (Tsukuru from that novel, Watanabe from "Norwegian Wood", Tengo from "1Q84", Kafka from "Kafka on the Shore" and so on) usually make me feel connected them, I rather often mimic them as a persona than find myself from his novel. I like not only his novels but also his way of life as a novelist and amateur marathoner. 그는 대외활동은 거의 하지 않고 일정한 양의 글을 매일 규칙적으로 쓰는 것으로 알려졌다. 그것은 다작의 큰 원료가 되기도 하다. 그는 <What I Talk About When I Talk About Running>, Professional Writer (Japanese Edition)>, and <[Mimizuku ha Tasogare ni Tobitatsu] Haruki Murakami A Long, Long Interview> 등에서 자신의 삶의 방식에 대하여 논해왔다.
